COMPONENT # 1:
THE FRAME A properly secured mailbox frame is unquestionably
the most important ingredient of every new mailbox installation. Whether you are
installing a single gang mailbox or a group of gangs, if they are not framed and if the
frame is not installed properly, they are going to fail. All of our frames are
custom made in either a finished or unfinished plywood.
If the installation is either semi-surface mounted or full surface mount, you
may want your new mailbox frame finished with Formica.

USPS APPROVED HORIZONTAL MAILBOXES:
These mailboxes are available in either front loading or rear loading
configuration, with 15 to 35 compartments per gang. They measure 16 inches in depth
and require approximately 1 inch per apartment in width when installed.
USPS APPROVED VERTICAL MAILBOXES:
These mailboxes are available with 3 to 7 compartments per gang. Vertical
mailboxes can be mounted two rows high to maximize wall space. Vertical mailboxes
require 7 inches depth and approximately 6 inches per apartment in width (3 inches for
double mounted) when installed.
COMPONENT # 3:
THE ACCESSORIES
KEY KEEPER: The US Postal Service requires a key keeper installed in
any building that the mailboxes are located behind a locked door. Academy manufactures the
only key keeper that is guaranteed against vandalism. We also stock all standard duty key
keepers.
ENGRAVED NAMEPLATES: An engraved nametag and apartment
marking for every tenant is mandatory.
AN ALPHABETIZED DIRECTORY: Mandatory for any installation
with 15 or more families. Academy stocks directories which will hold from 25 to 500 names.
Larger directories can be ordered.
A SHELF: US Postal service requires a shelf under every
horizontal mailbox. Academy manufactures all of our own shelves. Available materials are;
pine, oak, and mahogany woods, any color Formica, any color marble, any color granite and
any color of corian.
NEW AND OLD PARTS: We have new and old doors, locks,
rods, pins, frames, etc. always in stock.
